What is Co-Discernment?

A co-discerning group helps bring clarity to the decision-making process. Think about it for a moment. You're faced with a difficult, potentially life-changing decision. You're at a crossroads, unsure of which way to turn. You need clarity, wisdom from above. Wouldn't it be helpful to have a group of godly folks you could share your circumstances with, people who would listen patiently, ask the right questions and help you wait on the Lord? Co-discerning groups function like a "clearness committee." The process is designed to help you remove all the clutter and hear the still, small voice of God.

How Does it Work?

Co-discerning groups are made up of no more than eight members with me acting as moderator. After an initial orientation session, the group meets monthly for eight consecutive months online. The ninety-minute sessions allow for two to three members to share each month and the rest of the group to offer observations and follow up questions. The focus is to provide clarity. It's not about giving advice, leading the witness, asking rhetorical questions or teaching. The group is not there to tell the directee what to do. All questions are geared toward bringing clarity and discernment to the question at hand in partnership with the Holy Spirit.

How Do I Get Started?

Simply get in touch using the contact form below. I'll get back to you with all the information you need to decide if a co-discerning group would be a benefit to you in this season of your life. Once you decide to join a group, you'll be notified of the initial group session. As I've said elsewhere, the opportunity to grow in community — walking with others — while pursuing a deeper, more intimate love relationship with Jesus is a rare gift. I look forward to hearing from you.
